We have in our possession a 1914(?) Hazelwood V-twin motorcycle that
has been previously restored. As the motorcycle will be put on public display
in the San Diego Automotive Museum s vintage motorcycle collection,
we would like to receive as much information as possible so as to enlighten
the viewing public. We display written narratives for all of our motorcycles,
and have found little information for the Hazelwood to date. We would greatly
appreciate any information that you can provide
or put us in contact
with anyone who is knowledgeable of the Hazelwood marque.

Another nice period picture sent in my Nigel Apsdin of one of his Derbyshire ancestors taken around 1914. TThanks to Howard Burrows of Oz for identifying it as a Hazelwood outfit - identified by the letter "H" on the front forks.

I have managed to get some information for you regarding 'Hazlewood'.
Started business in England in 1905 as: Hazlewood Limited, Albion Mills, West Orchard, Coventry and at Buckingham.
Hazlewoods, who once claimed to be the largest motorcycle producer in Europe, had a large export business and were better known in foreign countries than at home in England. They concentrated more on utility than on special sports machines, and although they built 250, 300, 350 and 500 J.A.P. engined singles, their greatest reputation was gained with big 500, 650, 750 and 1000cc Side Valve V-twin machines with own and J.A.P. power units. Production in Coventry ceased in 1922; while at Buckingham they concentrated mainly on spares for existing models but soon closed down.
Our National Motorcycle Museum is quite close to Coventry and they have an enquiries section.
